Swedish Startup Soundcloud aims to make sound social

A platform for sharing sound online, Soundcloud is recieving more and more attention. An attempt to mix all the hot buzz  of social, sharing, community, heart,  apps -i.e. everything that makes venture capital salivate at the moment  and a  social file sharing system with DRM on top, Soundcloud is an interesting idea with great possibilities.

"The SoundCloud waveform not only makes sound look good, it makes it social". I mean, who wouldn't want their sound to be a successful socialite with great looks to boot?

Great to see that they found funding in Berlin, sad that again, Scandinavian startups cannot find funding home. Should we all be moving to Berlin or Silicon Valley? We hope to explore other solutions here on Scandinavian Startups.

If Soundcloud cannot solve problems so often encountered by startups in Scandinavia, at least they aspire to save the music business, as this interview with CEO and founder Alex Ljung attests:
