MyCube -a mesh between FaceBook and MySpace with a news aggregator and their own currency thrown in for good measure.
Staying somewhat under the radar but gaining attention in geek circles, MyCube's pitch is being " the World’s first Social Exchange, a content-centric, privacy-focused social network".
MyCube aims to offer users complete control of their information and interactions, allowing them to discover and earn income with content through the use of a digital currency.
MyCube has just gone into private beta and will release a public beta in June 2011.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Johan Staël von Holstein, MyCube is competing with the likes of Diaspora and many others aiming to monetize social. Oh, and they are launching on the same date as Diaspora. Drumroll!
"We have chosen Singapore and Sweden because of their talent pools, digital infrastructures and geographical positions, covering the Asian and European markets."
We have not had a chance to test out the beta properly yet, but we will keep you posted. For a detailed interview done with the usual flair for large statements that Johan is so well known for, head over to The Local
